Our story is generational
From the small shop of Cent Mille Chemises in Djibouti to state of the art manufacturing facilities in Somaliland, our story is multifaceted and generational. One family, alongside a dedicated team and entourage, started building an impressive reputation of quality services and products throughout the country. The small group of enterprises became pioneers in the industry of printing photos and shipping/logistics and now are one of the most professional entities in the horn of Africa. In life as well as in business, there are of course setbacks where the family had to start everything from scratch all over again. A resilient spirit and hardworking values helped rebuilt the group which now operates in four countries.
Laas Group is the latest manifestation of that legacy. A group with three core business: manufacturing, logistics and services. All dedicated to delivering excellence to our customers and partners. People know us not only for our brands, but also for what we do for the communities. The Laas Foundation has amplified its impact on the youth with education sponsorships of many Somalilanders and Djiboutians. Moreover, the foundation empowers and introduces them to the work environment through internships.
The Group’s adventure started more than a decade ago and it did not end there. With enthusiasm and energy, it will continue to build a brighter future through new products, services or trends – until the next generation.

Our Name and Logo
The word Laas is a Somali word which stands for prosperity and bliss. The logo designs reflect our core values. The white squares gravitating in the center of the logo, represents the unity of the companies within the Group with a common vision under the same leadership.

SBI and the Coca-Cola Foundation, have Jointly been involved in a large effort to expand water systems in Somaliland since 2013. In that year, we started the Rain Project first phase by just digging wells and building water retention systems for rural communities such as the Xaraf village. In 2015, Rain 2, an half a million dollars project meant for building the water network of Burao,( Somaliland’s second city) Rain 2 was successfully finalized and 150,000 people in Burao can now access clean tap water in their homes.
Rain 3 is the latest ongoing project with a budget of 5 million dollars. Rain 3’s aim is to expand Hargeisa water service delivery for Hargeisa residents. Several entities joined to achieve this project such as the Coca-Cola Foundation, Hargeisa Water Agency, KFW Bank, Somaliland Development Fund, Terre Solidari, UN-HABITAT, Somaliland Ministry of Planning, local government and communities.
This project Focuses on rehabilitating the primary and secondary distribution network as well as delivering water service to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settlements, Schools, Markets, and low-income neighborhoods without water supply. In addition to that, Hargeisa Water Agency will benefit from a new computerized billing and accounting systems provided by Terre Solidari. Today, more than 24 km of pipes have been installed, 7 schools have been connected to the system and 4 IDP settlements have been reached by the distribution.
In October 2018, the inauguration of the project was successfully carried out in Hargeisa at the RAIN elevated reservoir, in the presence of: the Somaliland Vice-President, the Hargeisa Water Agency, the Minister of Water Development, Coca-Cola BU, SBI, Local Government and relevant community leaders.
